ITHACA, N.Y. –– The Downtown Ithaca Alliance announced this week that they will be hosting their annual CFCU Summer Concert Series virtually starting in July.
The concert series kicks off at 6 p.m. on July 9 and continues each Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. through September 24. The concerts will be virtual, live from the State Theatre of Ithaca stage, and shared across all DIA social media platforms –– Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter.
“Since we’re still in the middle of a pandemic and we want to ensure everyone who participates in the series — performers and the audience — can do so in a safe way, the series will look a little different this year,” DIA Special Events Director Scott Rougeau said. “We’d like to be able to shift to live performances once New York State releases its guidelines pertaining to mass gatherings.”
“Either way, this series is going to be amazing and we think the public will be extremely pleased, especially with the performer lineup. It’s going to be jammed packed with highly talented and extremely diverse performers who will be playing all sorts of musical styles,” Rougeau said.
The series is sponsored by CFCU Community Credit Union, Seneca Beverage, Wagner Vineyards, Maguire Hyundai Subaru Genesis, Cayuga Radio Group, Ithaca Marriott, Green Street Pharmacy and the State Theatre.
More information is available on the DIA website, and on its Facebook Events Page.
