ITHACA, N.Y. –– Ithaca Police arrested a suspect Tuesday for the armed robbery of the Quik Shoppe convenience store last week.

Patrol officers and investigators arrested a 15-year-old juvenile for first-degree robbery of the Quick Shoppe on Third St. in the City of Ithaca.

According to police, during the incident the suspect, “entered the Quick Shoppe, approached the employee, then pointed a pistol at that employee and demanded cash.” Police say the suspect left the store with approximately $200.

The juvenile defendant was arraigned before Judge Cassidy Tuesday and subsequently remanded to a secure detention facility pending further court action.

This arrest is just the latest in a slew of reports from IPD regarding armed robberies –– latest being a robbery Monday night at a convenience store on East Hill. Monday’s incident was the fourth armed robbery reported in the City of Ithaca since Saturday.
