ITHACA, N.Y. –– The Ithaca Police Department is looking for leads on a suspicious vehicle they have connected to a suspicious fire that occurred at the end of May.
At around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 31 IPD and the Ithaca Fire Departments responded to a reported structure fire in the 100 block of Llenroc Court. The fire was found and extinguished by the IFD.
Immediately following the incident, IPD deemed the fire suspicious and the investigation has been ongoing ever since.
Investigators are looking to speak with the driver, owner, or someone who may know the driver or owner of a tan-colored Ford Explorer that was in the area at the time and may have relevant information in connection with the fire.
Police are asking the public to note the vehicle pictured below and the unique magnetic cause ribbon on vehicle’s tailgate.


The investigation is being conducted with assistance from IFD, Cornell University Police Department, Cornell Environmental Health and Safety and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
Additionally, anyone who may have been in the area of Llenroc Court around 6:26 a.m. is also being asked to contact the IPD via any of the following methods:
