On behalf of the Sciencenter, Ithaca Children’s Garden, and Paddle-N-More, Discover Cayuga Lake sends out a big thank you to sponsors and the 100-plus local families who made “Explore the Waterfront” a great success this summer. As a series of free, outdoor, and socially-distanced family programs, Explore the Waterfront brought together each organization’s unique platform to encourage environmental stewardship through hands-on education.

The partnership was conceptualized to increase waterfront organizations’ community accessibility during COVID, but none of us could have imagined the massive amount of interest we received – interest which kept these programs running long after the initially planned 4 weeks!

A special thank you to Greenstar Food Co-op for their generous donation and Tompkins County Area Transit for their free bus route, sponsorships that truly made our programs accessible to everyone.

Moving forward, we hope to grow this partnership into a Waterfront Cultural Alliance, and this starts with you. Your support of our incredible waterfront resources is always appreciated and ensures their longevity and accessibility for all local residents. Stay tuned for ways to engage in this collaboration into the future!

Please contact me for information on programs this fall.
