The Tompkins County Health Department (TCHD) announces a fall rabies clinic for dogs, cats and ferrets. The clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 19, 2020, at the TCAT Bus Garage, 737 Willow Avenue, Ithaca.

Pre-registration is required for the clinic by calling the Health Department or online through the TCHD website: https://tompkinscountyny.gov/health/eh/rabies#clinics

Appointments will fill quickly. Call the Health Department at (607) 274-6688 to be placed on a waitlist if all appointments are full.

Special COVID-19 precautions will be in place for this clinic to ensure the safety of staff and attendees. Please note:

  • All dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier, all cats and ferrets must be in a carrier to attend the clinic.
  • Mask are required for attendees at the clinic.
  • Households with family members in COVID quarantine or isolation at the time of the clinic should call to reschedule for a later clinic date.
  • Attendees will remain in their vehicle until staff request pet for vaccination.

Proof of prior vaccination is required to receive a three-year certificate for cats and dogs. If there is no proof of prior vaccination, a one-year certificate will be issued. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually.
