ITHACA, N.Y. — Ithaca police are investigating a rollover car crash that left a Trumansburg man hospitalized in the City of Ithaca in the early hours of Saturday morning.
At approximately 1:20 a.m., Ithaca Fire Department, IPD and Bangs Ambulance responded to reports of a car that had flipped. The car, a convertible, struck a work trailer and several parked cars — leaving the driver stuck in the car. First responders worked for 25 minutes to free the driver from the wreck.
A helicopter was unable to respond due to weather conditions and the driver, idetified as a 19-year-old Trumansburg man, was trasnported to Upstate Medical Center with head and neck injuries and was listed in stable but serious condition, according to IPD.
Seneca St. near Plain St. was shut down for seven hours while the Ithaca Police Crash Reconstruction Team investigated. That investigation is ongoing but the road has since been reopened.
