ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a hit and run on Friday that left one in hospitalized.

Around 10:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Albany Street in the area of State Street, rolling them onto the hood and then onto the ground. The driver then fled the area, according to a release from IPD.

A bystander assisted the victim back to their nearby residence before 911 was contacted. The victim was transported to a regional trauma center. Their current medical condition is unknown.

The Ithaca Police Department is asking for anyone with any information that would aid this investigation to get in touch.
