DRYDEN, N.Y. –– A Dryden man is in custody after an undercover police operation revealed he attempted to engage in inappropriate sexual relations with a minor.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Ithaca arrested 31 year-old Douglas J. Predmore Monday for the felony charge of Attempted Disseminating of Indecent Material to Minors in the first degree.

Over several months, law enforcement agencies including the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Troop C Major Crimes Unit, Troop C Forensic Identification Unit, Troop C Computer Crimes Unit, the Village of Dryden Police Department and New York State Parole engaged in a joint investigation that included an undercover officer posing as a 14 year-old girl online.

The investigation resulted in Predmore inappropriately communicating with said officer, and after the execution of a search warrant in the village of Dryden police ultimately arrested the subject.

The subject, Predmore, is apparently in violation of a previous parole sentence and because of the new charge is now in Tompkins County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in town of Dryden court on November 9, 2020.
