ITHACA, N.Y. –– The Ithaca Police Department is investigating after a report of shots fired on Chestnut Street Tuesday morning.

IPD officers that responded to the incident, which occurred at around 11:35 a.m. on the 600 block of Chestnut, were able to confirm through witnesses that rounds from a gun were discharged. However, no victims have been located at this time.

Based on witness testimony, IPD is now looking for a 2006 white Mazda 6 sedan operated by an
unknown white male believed to still be armed with a handgun.
