ITHACA, N.Y.—Cayuga Health announced on Dec. 31 that they will be opening two more COVID-19 testing facilities on Monday, Jan. 4, in Ithaca and Cortland.
The additional locations are being opened to support increased demand for testing in the area. They will both conduct saliva-based testing, which the Shops at Ithaca Mall sampling site recently switched to from a deep nose swab, which it had done for months.
Ithaca’s new location will be at Cayuga Medical Center near the back entrance of the hospital, while the Cortland site will be located in Gutchess Park in Cortlandville. Both sites will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays. Appointments are still required in order to receive a test, and can be scheduled at www.cayugahealth.org.
All other Cayuga Health Sampling sites will remain open.
“We will continue to expand our sampling and testing capabilities to meet the needs of our communities and the surrounding area,” stated Dr. Martin Stallone, President & CEO of Cayuga Health. “Increased testing slows the spread of COVID-19 and it is our commitment to do everything that we can for our communities during this time.”
