ITHACA, N.Y.—The Ithaca Police Department has announced that they are investigating several reports of shots fired in the Spencer Road traffic circle.

The incident occurred Friday night, Dec. 18, in the 300 block of Spencer Road and in the Spencer Road traffic circle near Park Street. Police said that they received several reports of gunshots and interviewed several residents nearby, though none who had witnessed the actual shots being fired.

Officers found 12 spent 9mm shell casings at the scene, coming from a semi-automatic weapon. Police said the suspects were likely firing from a vehicle, though it is unclear how they came to that conclusion. Police do not know what or who the suspects were shooting at. As of Saturday night, no victims have been located or identified.
