ITHACA, N.Y. –– Officials are reminding residents that city and county offices will be closed on Friday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday and Friday, January 1 for New Years including the Tompkins Recycling and Materials Management office and solid waste center.

There will be no curbside recycling collection on either Friday, December 25 or Friday, January 1. Recycling collection will take place one day late for the remainder of each holiday week. That means if your regularly scheduled collection day is Friday, recycling will instead be picked up on Saturday. Sign up for automatic recycling reminders at recycletompkins.org.

As for any business that may require getting in contact with city or county offices, many offices are functioning with staff working remotely and it is best to call or e-mail the department with which you wish to conduct business to inquire about hours and availability of services.
