TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.—The Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) bus service has announced its schedule changes which will take effect on Dec. 24 and extend until the bus routes return to fully normal service on Jan. 2.

The only days there will be no service at all are Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, with service ending early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. During the period between Christmas and New Year’s, TCAT will use a modified schedule, the transit agency announced.

Christmas Eve Day

Thurs., Dec. 24: Service will end early.

No service: Routes 90 and 93

Normal service: Routes 14S, 20, 40, 41, 52, 53 and 65 will operate normal service and end at normal time.

Modified service: Routes 10, 11, 13, 13S, 14, 15, 17, 21, 30, 31, 32, 36, 37, 43, 51, 67, 81 and 82 as follows:

  • Route 10: Last trip departs Seneca St. Station at 5:50 p.m. and from Milstein Hall at 5:56 p.m., ending at Seneca St. Station at 6:07 p.m.
  • Route 11: Last trip departs from Seneca St. Station at 5:08 p.m. and from College Circle Apartments / Ithaca College at 5:30 p.m., ending at Seneca St. Station at 5:48 p.m.
  • Route 13: Last trip departs Green St. Station at 5:30 p.m. and from Lake @ Ithaca High School at 5:40 p.m., ending at Hancock @ Third at 5:47 p.m.
  • Route 13S: Last trip departs from Seneca St. Station at 5:03 p.m., and from Aldi at 5:11 p.m., ending at Green St. Station at 5:21 p.m.
  • Route 14: Last trip departs Green St. Station at 6:00 p.m. and from the Hospital at 6:35 p.m., ending at Green St. Station at 6:57 p.m.
  • Route 15: Last trip departs Seneca St. Station at 5:21 p.m. and from Tops / Walmart at 5:36 p.m., ending on Green St. at 5:55 p.m.
  • Route 17: Service ends early. Normal service on routes that are scheduled to run.
  • Route 21: Last trip departs Vet School at 4:37 p.m. and from Trumansburg at 5:24 p.m., ending at Green St. Station at 5:50 p.m.
  • Route 30: Last trip departs Seneca St. Station at 5:52 p.m. and from the Shops at Ithaca Mall at 5:58 p.m.
  • Route 31: Last trip departs Green St. Station. at 6:02 p.m., ending at Convenient Care at 6:35 p.m. Last inbound trip departs Convenient Care at 5:35 p.m.
  • Route 32: Last trip departs Green St. Station at 6:00 p.m. and ending at ITH airport at 6:28 p.m. Last inbound trip departs ITH airport at 5:44 p.m.
  • Route 36: No 8:17 p.m. inbound from Lansing Town Hall to the Shops at Ithaca Mall.
  • Route 37: No 7:35 p.m. outbound trip from Green St. Station.
  • Route 43: Last trip departs Green St. Station at 5:45 p.m. and from TC3 / Dryden at 6:38 p.m., ending at Seneca St. Station at 7:10 p.m.
  • Route 51: Last trip departs Green St. Station at 5:32 p.m. and from East Hill Plaza at 5:49 p.m., ending at Seneca St. Station at 6:22 p.m.
  • Route 67: Last trip departs Vet School at 4:30 p.m. and from Newfield at 5:06 p.m., ending at Green St. Station. at 5:30 p.m.
  • Route 81: Last trip departs A Lot at 5:45 p.m. and from the Vet School at 6:04 p.m., ending at Hasbrouck at 6:18 p.m.
  • Route 82: Last trip departs East Hill Plaza at 5:30 p.m., and from Statler Hall at 5:39 p.m., ending at East Hill Plaza at 5:54 p.m.

Christmas Day

Fri., Dec. 25: TCAT will not operate.

Sat., Dec. 26

No service: Routes 90 and 93.

Modified service: Route 72 last trip departs Green St. Station at 9:00 p.m., and inbound from Lancaster Tompkins International Airport (ITH) at 9:33 p.m., ending on Seneca St. Station at 10:02 p.m.

All other routes will run normal service.

Sun., Dec. 27

No service: Routes 90 and 93

Modified service: Route 72: last trip departs Green St. Station at 7:00 p.m. and inbound from ITH airport at 7:46 p.m., ending at Seneca St. Station at 8:18 p.m.

Normal service: All other routes will run normal service.

Mon., Dec. 28, Tues., Dec. 29 and Wed., Dec. 30

No service: Routes 10, 81, 82, 90 and 93. (For North Campus service, please see routes 30, 31, 32, 36 and 37.)

Modified service: Route 51 will serve Maple Ave. both outbound and inbound.

All other routes will run normal service.

New Year’s Eve Day

Thurs. Dec. 31: Service will end early.

No service: Routes 10, 81, 82, 90 and 93

Normal service: Routes 14S, 20, 40, 41, 52, 53 & 65 will operate normal service and end at normal time.
