ITHACA, N.Y. –– The Ithaca Police Department is looking into a drive-by shooting on Spencer Road Friday night during which multiple rounds were fired, striking a house. No one was injured during the incident.
The shooting occurred just before 11:30 p.m. Friday on the 600 block of Spencer Road. This is the third time in four months that shots have been reported in the area. Less than a month ago, police also reported that a 12-year-old found a loaded handgun in a ditch on the same block.
Witnesses on the scene reported hearing multiple gunshots, some of which were found to have struck a multiple-unit house –– one of which was discovered still lodged in the home. Police, after initial investigation, were able to confirm the shots were fired from inside a moving vehicle.
