DRYDEN, N.Y. –– Three people are hospitalized after a driver crossed the center line on State Route 13 in Dryden, causing a head-on collision with another vehicle Tuesday night.
Just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, New York State Police at Ithaca responded to the scene on Route 13 near Lower Creek Road where they found that a 19-year-old female of Groton, NY had been traveling northwest when she crossed over the center line and struck a vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The vehicle that was struck ended up on top of a guide rail. The occupants of the other vehicle were a 23-year-old male driver of Lisle, NY and a 11-year-old female passenger of Groton, NY. None of the people involved were identified by police in their announcement of the crash.
All three people were transported to Upstate Medical Center for treatment. Police could not provide updates on the conditions of the victims, but said the two people who were in the car that was struck complained of pain at the scene and the woman who crossed the line sustained lacerations.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
