ITHACA, N.Y. –– Today is the last day to apply to be a “Public Health Ambassador” –– a paid part-time position with the Tompkins County Health Department.

Public Health Ambassadors work directly with community members and local community health initiatives to “ensure equitable access to public health resources and services, including those related to COVID-19 testing, vaccine, contact tracing, mask wearing, and other prevention techniques,” according to a department press release.

TCHD is looking to hire part-time employees who “represent the diversity of cultures, backgrounds, generations, social identities, lived experiences, and neighborhoods in Tompkins County” to serve as Public Health Ambassadors.

Pay is $17 an hour, and the application can be found on the Tompkins County Human Resources webpage here.

Again, candidates are encouraged to apply by today, April 12.
