ITHACA, N.Y. –– After shuttering donations at the beginning of last month, Finger Lakes ReUse announced today that Donation Acceptance Areas at both the Ithaca ReUse Center and the ReUse MegaCenter on Triphammer are up and running again.
“We really appreciate the support and understanding we have received as we have temporarily paused accepting donated materials, giving us time to process many of your generously donated items back into the community,” ReUse representatives said in a press release. “We worked hard to process your donated items while creating updated donation spaces that are convenient for our donors and safe for our workers.”
The “new and improved” donations drop-off at the Ithaca ReUse Center is now on the east side of the building next to the earth mural. Customers are asked to please follow the signage and arrows to the new acceptance area.
Donations drop-off will be closed on Thursdays weekly over the summer at both locations to “help staff focus on processing material donations to get them back into the community.” Otherwise, donations are accepted from Sunday through Wednesday and Friday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
