UPDATE: The District Attorney revised the press release it sent out earlier, showing that Harbin was convicted of the same charges he was arrested for last year. The earlier press release said he had been convicted of slightly lesser charges.

ITHACA, N.Y.—Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten announced the conviction of Dale J. Harbin, 44, of Brooktondale on a litany of charges related to the sexual abuse of a child.
After a four-day trial, Harbin was convicted of two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and a charge of second-degree course of sexual contact against a child. All of the charges are Class D felonies. There was no additional comment from Van Houten.
According to court documents from when he was arrested early last year, Harbin had been accused of multiple instances of sexual abuse involving a seven-year-old child in 2016. At the time, Harbin was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of course of sexual contact against a child, in the second degree.
