ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca Police say they are investigating a fight on Commons that left one person injured over the weekend.

Officers responded to the east end of the Commons, where they found one person bleeding from their head, conscious but disoriented, police said. The person was taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.

Police claimed that after investigating, they “uncovered video that shows several people approaching the victim and a physical altercation taking place.”

It’s not exactly clear when the fight took place. Police said it was on “Friday, Oct. 31,” but Friday last week was on Oct. 29. The victim was reported around 3:25 a.m.

In a separate incident, police additionally responded to a report of shots fired on Nov. 1 at night, in the area of West State Street and North Fulton Street. Nobody was injured, although a vehicle was hit by a bullet during the incident. Police said the incident was not random, and that “it is likely that the suspect knows the victim.”Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.”

The incidents are not thought to be connected.
