UPDATE, 8:15 P.M. –– Members of the Varna fire department responded to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire, which had left the car completely destroyed. Residents were able to reenter the house soon after the firefighters finished.

Responders from the following departments all assisted at the scene: Neptune Hose Co #1 of Dryden Ambulance, Freeville Fire Department, Etna Volunteer Fire Department, Brooktondale Volunteer Fire Department, Slaterville Fire Station, Groton Fire Station, McLean Fire Department, Cayuga Heights Fire Department, Ithaca Airport and Dryden Ambulance.

ITHACA, N.Y.—At approximately 4 p.m. Thursday Jan. 13 multiple calls were placed to the Varna Volunteer Fire Department reporting a car on fire in front of a house on Ellis Hollow Road.

The fire fully engulfed the unoccupied vehicle and spread to the exterior of the house.

Varna Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Tiffany Ho said that there were no injuries and that only the exterior of the house was damaged.

Multiple fire agencies responded to the calls including the Varna and Dryden fire departments.
