ITHACA, N.Y.—New York State police are looking into a crash that happened over the weekend that left one man seriously injured.

Police said they responded to a crash in the Town of Ithaca, on Taughannock Boulevard, around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 12. Ithaca Police Department and Bangs Ambulance also responded.

According to the police’s narrative, a 31-year-old male driver from Ithaca was driving north on Taughannock Boulevard when he “went off the roadway, struck a guardrail, a parked unoccupied vehicle then a cinder block post.”

The man was the vehicle’s only occupant. He sustained serious injuries, according to police, and was transported via helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital for treatment.

“The incident remains under investigation,” police said.
