ITHACA, N.Y.—Officers from the Ithaca Police Department responded to a report of an in-progress theft of an electric bike on Fayette Street on May 16, 2022.

A witness to the incident chased the perpetrators and assisted the officers in locating them, and one perpetrator threatened use of force toward the witness.

The two suspects were located by responding officers near the 400 block of South Meadow Street and identified as Keith McFall and James Vanzile, both of Ithaca. McFall was charged with robbery, grand larceny and possession of burglars tools, and Vanzile was charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

One of the men was arraigned and released on their own recognizance, and the other was transported to a hospital for treatment of an unrelated medical issue.
