Update, July 9, 2022: Police have arrested Michael Thomas in connection with the Hickey’s break-in, part of a long string of burglaries.
Original Story: ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca police said they are seeking more information about a break-in that took place at the historic Hickey’s Music Store on Adams Street early Wednesday morning.
Upon arriving at the scene after an alarm at the business went off around 4 a.m., police stated that a suspect had fled the scene but that there was evidence of a burglary. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the business, according to Ithaca police Sergeant Justin Baldessare.
Further details were unavailable, though it appears no musical equipment was taken in the incident.
