ITHACA, N.Y.—The Ithaca Police Department (IPD) responded to the 700 block of West Court Street at approximately 5:45 a.m. on July 15 for a report of three males wearing face masks and pushing a motorcycle into the back of a box truck.
According to a release from IPD, officers at the scene observed the three men in the cab of the truck, and further investigation found that there were two motorcycles in the truck. One of the motorcycles was confirmed to be stolen and all three suspects were deemed to be in possession of the stolen motorcycle.
The men were identified as Cameron McCaffery, Joshua Walsh and Vincent Freeman. They were arrested before being charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree.
The three men were arraigned in Ithaca City Court, and Walsh was released on his own recognizance due to the charge not being bail-eligible.
McCaffery, who was wanted on multiple warrants, was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on a bail of $5,000 or a bond of $10,000.
Freeman was remanded to the jail and, due to a count of five prior felony convictions, was ineligible for bail to be set.
The police department is still searching for the owner of the second motorcycle and is asking that any witnesses to the incident contact the police department at (607)330-0000 or www.cityofithaca.org/ipdtips.
