ITHACA, N.Y.—After adding an online shopping platform for Saturday market pickup options in the height of COVID, the Ithaca Farmers Market has received Ithaca Urban Renewal Agency (IURA) Grant Funds and partnered with Groundswell’s Press Bay Alley cooler, where shoppers can pick up online orders mid-week at the convenient downtown location.
This new curbside pickup option is available from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays behind Press Cafe, and orders must be placed between 6 a.m. Monday and 10 p.m. Thursday for pickup the following week.
The midweek pickups are open to all shoppers but is focusing on residents who are EBT-eligible or qualify as low to moderate income, and thanks to the IURA grant, these customers will receive a 60% discount on SNAP eligible items. The discounts are only available while funds last, and more information can be requested at foodequity@ithacamarket.com.
The online store will open at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 for the first pickup to occur the following Wednesday, Aug. 24, and products include vegetables, dairy products, meat and fruit, plus more from vendors like Crosswinds Creamery, West Haven Farm, Six Circles Farm, Cayuga Sun Farm, Windsong Farm and more.
