This is a Community Announcement from the Village at Ithaca. It was not written by The Ithaca Voice. To submit community announcements, send them to Matt Butler at mbutler@ithacavoice.com.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Village at Ithaca. In 2002, Cal Walker and Karl Graham founded the Village to advocate for educational excellence and equity in our community. For 20 years, we have supported youth and families and worked for systemic changes in Tompkins County. The current Executive Director, Meryl Phipps, was named the best Not-for-Profit Leader of the year by the Tompkins Chamber for 2022.

We are celebrating this occasion with a community event on Saturday, August 6, from 1 – 4 pm at 401 W. Seneca St. We’re closing the street next to the Village office for an afternoon of fun. Join us for free food, including an ice cream truck, cupcakes, and popcorn! We’ll also have fun activities and performances from Free Science Workshop and Circus Culture, a bouncy house, DJ, face painting, games, and a few surprises!
