LANSING, N.Y.—Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers celebrated its official opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 29 during an open house. The new center marks Fyzical’s third location following the ones in Skaneateles and Camillus, New York.
Owned by Shelly Kraetz, the Lansing location is headed by Ithaca College graduate Katherine Pitman in the role of clinical director, and Cali Griffin, regional clinical director.
Representatives from the Tompkins Chamber, Tompkins County Legislature and Lansing Town Supervisor Ed LaVigne attended, along with the center’s staff and local community members.
“You have the courage to invest in our town, and we appreciate that very much. We wish you nothing but the best here,” LaVigne said.
“Thank you for bringing new services also to this rural community,” said Jennifer Tavares, Tompkins Chamber president and CEO, adding that the location compliments the PinePoint Medical office that neighbors Fyzical. “It’s really important that we have access to healthcare and physical therapy and all those types of services throughout Tompkins County, so we are grateful.”
Legislator Mike Sigler said that “This is a great space, what you’ve done with is tremendous. It’s nice to see somebody who had an idea, right? And said, ‘We’re gonna try this out at one location, and then we’re so successful that we’re going to open another one.’ I’m just proud that we’re the third.”
Shelly Kraetz, owner of Fyzical, said that “We help people so they don’t fall and maintain good balance,” adding that falls are the number one reason that people get admitted to the hospital as they age. “We’ll be happy to help [the community] with anything, not just falls and fall prevention and balance, but we can do orthopedics and anything that people go to physical therapy for.”
Fyzical Therapy is located at 3105 North Triphammer Road in Lansing, New York.
