ENFIELD, N.Y.—A shelter-in-place order has been canceled and one man is in custody in Enfield Monday afternoon.
Tompkins County Sheriff Derek Osborne stated that the incident began after someone checked into a local medical facility seeking treatment for a graze wound from a bullet around 11 a.m.
While the victim was quickly treated and released, police responded to where the incident was said to have occurred, in the 100 block of Sheffield Road in the Town of Enfield.
Once there, police centered on a house and issued a SIREN alert telling those in the area to stay sheltered while police attempted to make contact with the suspect in the incident, Java Abdur-Razzaaq. Abdur-Razzaaq returned to the house soon afterwards and surrendered himself without incident, Osborne said.
Further details on the incident were not made available, though there should be charges announced soon.
