ITHACA, N.Y.—As the Apple Harvest Festival was drawing to a close Sunday evening just blocks away, police were called to a crash that sent one car over a sidewalk and into a patch of bushes on West Green Street.

Near the intersection of South Geneva Street and West Green Street, police said they determined that two vehicles had collided around 6:50 p.m. A white Jeep Wrangler, according to police, had not stopped at a stop sign on South Geneva Street and then crashed into a black Chevy Suburban that was traveling east on West Green Street.

The Chevy subsequently went into the bushes at 125 West Green Street, across from the parking lot next to Press Bay Alley. Nobody was injured in the incident.

However, the driver of the Wrangler was charged for their role in the crash. Shalyn McClintock, 29 years old of Forty Fort, PA, was arrested and charged with two traffic violations as well as driving while intoxicated and driving with a .08 percent BAC or higher.

McClintock is due back to Ithaca City Court on Nov. 3 on the charges.
