Over the next two months, supporters of The Ithaca Voice have the opportunity to help our nonprofit newsroom grow.
Starting tomorrow, November 1, and running through December 31, The Ithaca Voice is participating in NewsMatch, a program that matches individual, one-time donations of up to $1,000 and recurring monthly donations 12 times the amount, equivalent to a year’s worth of donations.
From now through the end of the year, The Ithaca Voice can earn up to $15,000 in matching dollars from NewsMatch toward our total goal of $50,000.
As a nonprofit newsroom, we rely on your support to keep us doing what we do — producing in-depth coverage of the issues that impact you daily; and we hope you agree that local journalism like The Ithaca Voice is more important than ever.
We’ve accomplished a lot this year and are especially proud of our extensive transportation reporting on the challenges that TCAT faces, just to name one of our projects.
We’re already planning big things for 2023, like website enhancements including a community events calendar and implementing new methods of watchdog journalism. We’re planning to add another reporter to our small staff, as well as form a community advisory board of diverse Tompkins County residents.
All content on The Ithaca Voice is and always will be free. The nonprofit news model is the future of journalism, and in a time when traditional local news models are declining, The Ithaca Voice is growing thanks to you.
