ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca Police Department has announced the arrest of one person after a domestic assault that took place Thanksgiving night.

The police responded around 7:15 p.m. to the 100 block of Cherry Street after a report of a domestic incident occurring. Police did not specify many details of the crime, but said Gregory Hayden, 40, of Ithaca was arrested as a result.

Hayden also had charges that were outstanding from an Oct. 6 domestic incident. He was taken into custody and arraigned on first-degree robbery, second-degree strangulation, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and third-degree assault.

He was arraigned before Ithaca City Court Judge Seth Peacock and remanded to Tompkins County Jail without bail. His next court appearance is Nov. 30 at 1:30 p.m.
