TRUMANSBURG, N.Y.—A fire in the 3800 block of Colegrove Road in Ulysses destroyed a house early Saturday morning, according to the Trumansburg Fire Department.

The fire was reported around 5 a.m. on Saturday, when firefighters were told of a fire in the side of a house. More trucks were called to help with manpower and equipment.

TFD spokesperson Alix Gresov said that smoke detectors had alerted the people inside the house to escape. However, two pets were lost in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
