ITHACA, N.Y.—Officers from the Ithaca Police Department responded to a report that a bullet had come through an apartment window on Chestnut Street at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Dec. 30, 2022.

Inside the apartment, the officers were able to locate the bullet in the living room as well as the area where it had been fired from. Officers then responded to another apartment nearby.

Officers currently have more than one person of interest involved in the shooting incident and one reported victim. The victim had fled their apartment through a second-story window, and the location and health of the victim is unknown at this time.

Suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of the officers.
