ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca Police are looking for several suspects after a home invasion and assault took place late Friday night.

According to a press release from Sgt. Christopher Cady, police were called to a residence in the 400 block of Spencer Road for a reported home invasion.

Cady wrote that the caller reported “at least 4-5 Black males that came into the apartment building all wearing Halloween-style masks armed with guns.” The men then entered a residence in the building and held two children, 10 and 13 years old, at gunpoint. One of the other men went to an upstairs bedroom and assaulted a victim via punches and strikes with a handgun.

Police said witnesses reported that the men had at least two handguns and one long gun, and entered through an unlocked door. The victim was treated for non-life-treatening injuries.

Cady did not answer a request for more information regarding motive, other injuries or if items were stolen during the incident.
