ITHACA, N.Y.—Titus Towers became the site of an attempted murder, the Ithaca Police Department (IPD) reports, which resulted in multiple victims sustaining non-life threatening injuries.

On Friday, around 1 p.m., Ithaca Police say that Kenneth Hallett, 64, entered an apartment adjacent to his at the Titus Towers apartment building with the alleged intent to kill a neighboring resident. The Ithaca Voice witnessed a late middle-aged man being taken from Titus Towers on Friday in an ambulance, covering injuries to their face.

Ithaca Police report that another resident of the building was also allegedly injured by Hallett, sustaining lacerations to their forearm. The Ithaca Police Department stated that they initially responded to Titus Towers for a report of an assault against the 14-year old male, but learned on scene that it was actually two adults that had been attacked.

At this time, IPD says that the incident is still under investigation, and that no other information is being made available.

Both victims were transported to a hospital for treatment by Bangs Ambulance. The Ithaca Fire Department and New York State Police assisted IPD with their response.

Hallett was arraigned in Ithaca City Court on Friday, and sent to Tompkins county Jail with a bail of $10,000 in cash, a $20,000 bond, or a $50,0000 partial security Bond. Hallett is scheduled to appear in Ithaca City Court on January 17th, and is facing charges of attempted murder in the 2nd Degree, burglary in the 3rd Degree, and assault in the 2nd degree.

Update: This report originally stated that Kenneth Hallett assaulted a 14 year-old male along with a late middle-aged man, as the Ithaca Police Department had reported. On Saturday, police issued a clarifying statement that they initially responded to a call that a 14 year old had been assaulted at Titus Towers, but learned on scene that in fact two adults had been assaulted.
