ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca police are looking for a suspect in connection with a stabbing incident that took place Saturday night in Ithaca.

According to a police press release from Sgt. Thomas Condzella, around 7:35 p.m. on Jan. 21, police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Chestnut Street.

The circumstances of the incident were not released, but Condzella said upon arrival police found a resident who had been stabbed in the torso.

“Officers interviewed the victim and one other person on scene however at this time the identity of the suspect is still unknown,” Condzella wrote.

The victim was taken to a hospital via helicopter and is expected to survive their injuries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and Condzella encouraged anyone with information to contact police via:
