Original story:

ITHACA, N.Y.—One person was sent to the hospital with serious injuries after an apparent bicycle crash Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m., according to Ithaca police, in the 500 block of East Buffalo Street, which is on a steep hill between Aurora Street and Eddy Street. The person riding the bike had been traveling westbound down the hill and struck a pothole, after which he lost control of the bike.

Police said the man struck the pavement head-first “sustaining suspected traumatic injury to his head and face.” He was taken to a regional trauma center for further treatment, after being treated on scene by Bangs Ambulance.

No further details were released by police, including the condition of the victim, though The Ithaca Voice has requested more details.
