ITHACA, N.Y.—Police closed the intersection of South Corn Street and Cleveland Avenue for about two hours Monday afternoon to investigate a shooting incident. No injuries have been reported in connection to the incident.

According to a press release about the incident, police said there were multiple reports of gunshots around 1 p.m. Witnesses interviewed on the scene told police that the situation occurred between two people who were walking along the road and another person who was driving by in a vehicle. It is unclear if both groups exchanged gunfire or if only one party was firing.

No victims were located and those involved had fled the scene by the time police had arrived. Police said they were able to find evidence at the scene, though they did not clarify how many shots they believe were fired during the full incident.

The area around the intersection was reopened around 2:30 p.m., according to police.
