ITHACA, N.Y.—The Ithaca Police Department has made an arrest in a stabbing that took place on Spencer Road around midnight on Tuesday.

Ithaca Police Sergeant Justin Baldessare wrote in a press release that Thomas Henry, 20, of Ithaca was arrested and charged with the stabbing, which happened in the 600 block of Spencer Road. He was charged with first-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.

Police said they found a victim at the scene who was bleeding heavily from the stabbing. That person was taken to a regional trauma center and is expected to survive.

Henry had left the scene before police arrived, but he was arrested Tuesday afternoon. He was arraigned in Ithaca City Court by Judge Seth Peacock and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $25,000 cash / $25,000 partially secured bond.
