ITHACA, N.Y.—Cecil Malone Bridge’s long-awaited reopening after an eight-month construction project will now cede to a short-awaited re-closing, but only for a few weeks.
The City of Ithaca announced that the bridge will close on April 24 for milling, paving and landscape work. The bridge will reopen May 5. The bridge was originally closed from June 2022 until February 10, 2023.
The pedestrian sidewalks on either side of the bridge will be open for walkers. The bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic, though there will be signage for a detour.
