ITHACA, N.Y.—The Ithaca Police Department is searching for a missing person, Ithaca resident Thomas P. Rath, who is reported to have been last seen in the encampments known as “the Jungle” on or around May 17.

Police stated that they are investigating a case involving Rath’s disappearance, the circumstances around which are “suspicious in nature and law enforcement is concerned for his safety.” Police did not provide any further details on Rath’s disappearance.

Rath, 33, is described by police as 6 feet tall and weighing about 145 pounds, and having several tattoos including a black and pink heart on his neck. He’s reported as last being seen wearing a black hoodie and jeans, and carrying a blue bag. 

A foot search through the Jungle on May 27 did not result in Rath being found, the police department stated. Police are requesting that anyone that can provide any information that might aid in the search of Rath contact the department.
