ITHACA N.Y.- The Tompkins County Office of Human Rights is providing free N95 masks to residents at its office located at 120 West State/MLK Jr. Street during normal business hours, between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The office sent a mass email June 8 to alert residents in need of the available N95 masks. The decision to offer free masks comes after numerous state and county warnings, urging residents to mask up for protection against the dangerous air quality levels reported in Ithaca the last two days.

“Healthy individuals are likely to experience difficulty breathing and throat irritation,” the office wrote in the email. “Consider staying indoors and rescheduling outdoor activities.”
