ITHACA, N.Y.—An unidentified male person was found deceased in the water near the base of Ithaca Falls on Lake Street at approximately 6:40 a.m. on Friday, according to Ithaca Police Department Acting Lieutenant Derek Necheporek.
The Ithaca Police Department, the Ithaca Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance personnel were called to the area after someone reported seeing a deceased person in the water.
It was confirmed the male person died as a result of drowning with no foul play suspected, according to Necheporek. It is unclear when the person entered the water or how long they had been in the water when found.
