ITHACA, N.Y. — A Tompkins County woman was sentenced in court last week for stealing more than $344,000 from a technological firm in Lansing over a period of about eight years.

Pamela A. Hinshaw, 51, a former employee at Advanced Design Consulting USA (ADC), pleaded guilty to felony second-degree grand larceny. She was originally also charged with second-degree forgery, and first-degree falsifying business records.

Assistant District Attorney Dan Johnson recommended a four-to-eight-year prison sentence. Her attorney John Fitzgerald recommended three to six years, which she was sentenced to by Judge John Rowley.

According to court records, Hinshaw stole the money from Sept. 2007 to August 2015  by forging the company president’s name on checks. She then forged documents to cover up the stealing. She was charged last November.

She’ll have to pay back $344,438.78 in resitution, along with an additional $6,376.43.
