ITHACA, NY – Ithaca College Public Safety officers are investigating a two incidents that occurred at The Circle Apartments in the early morning hours of Aug. 16.

The college’s Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management released an alert reporting that that between midnight and 9 a.m. on Aug. 16, a burglar stole a flat-screen TV and a large speaker from an apartment while the occupants were sleeping.

Another incident occurred that same morning, according to the alert. Around 3:30 a.m., tenants of a different apartment of the complex awoke to find an intruder with a flashlight in their apartment. The intruder then fled.

Lieutenant of Public Safety at Ithaca College Thomas Dunn told The Ithacan that they have reason to believe that that the two incidents are related due to the close time frame. It is believed that the intruders in both cases may have entered through unlocked sliding doors.
