ITHACA, N.Y. — Early Tuesday, tents were beginning to set up at Dewitt Park for the return of the Farmers Market on Tuesdays. Other markets, including East Hill Plaza and the Sunday market at Steamboat Landing are also starting up again this week.
The Dewitt Park Farmers Market, at the corner of North Cayuga Street and East Buffalo Street, is now open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays until late October. Though the season is still early for most vegetables, there are several vendors selling food like gyros, Korean food, pastries and burritos.
Weather: The first taste of summer
The East Hill Farmers Market is opening a month earlier this year. Beginning Wednesday, it will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. at 380 Pine Tree Road and run until Oct. 31.
The Ithaca Farmers Market is an owner-operated cooperative market with more than 160 members who grow or make their wares within 30 miles of Ithaca. The Saturday market at Steamboat Landing reopened in April and is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Sunday market will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
