GENEVA, N.Y. — Saturday, June 8 marks the fifth annual FLX Pride Festival at the Lakefront Park in Geneva, NY. This inclusive festival is a place for LGBTQ community members and allies to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQ) people in the Finger Lakes as part of June’s Pride Month. The Festival also raises funds for The LGBTQ Center of the Finger Lakes, which is a growing advocacy program under Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes.

The FLX Pride Festival will be held outside from 1 to 9 p.m. June 8 on the beautiful shore of Seneca Lake in Geneva, NY. Thanks to our top sponsors NY State Fair, CNY Latino, Finger Lakes Radio Group, Trillium Health, Finger Lakes Gifts & Lounge, and CFCU, this is the third year that admission to the festival will be waived for individuals and families.

“We strive to improve every year and want to make sure families are able to come and enjoy a fun afternoon without spending all their money just getting in the gate.” explains Chelsea Snyder, LGBTQ Program Coordinator for Family Counseling Service, “We’d rather have families invest in the food trucks, vendors, or souvenirs to take home.”

The festival will include many family-friendly activities, including free carnival games, origami, corn hole, LGBTQ Art Mural, Photo Booth, face painting, and Live music entertainment by Darwin, Shrimps, and Ithaca Gay Men’s Chorus! There will also be several vendors selling merchandise, educating participants about local services, and handing out giveaways. Several food trucks including Over The Moon Grilled Cheeserie, Pizza Posto, El Morro, The Slushie Company, and Sprinkle Starship will be serving up food and beverages. Local wine, beer, and cider vendors will also be serving all afternoon including Three Brothers, Twisted Rail Brewery, and Climbing Bines Brewery. The festival concludes with a free Drag Show Performance, titled “Songs of Empowerment”, with performances of all your favorite songs from local Drag King & Queen celebrities. To see the full schedule of festival events and vendors in attendance, please visit www.fcsfl.org or check out the FLX Pride Festival event page.

It is highly recommended that festival participants carpool on Saturday. For Handicap Parking, enter by the new Finger Lakes Welcome Center at 35 Lakefront Drive. For General Parking, look for the marked parking entrance off Route 5& 20.

The LGBTQ Center of the Finger Lakes, an advocacy program under Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes, provides LGBTQ services throughout the Finger Lakes area in Ontario, Yates, Seneca, and Wayne Counties. These services include a You Are Not Alone (YANA) youth weekly support group in Geneva & Newark, Safe Zone trainings for local businesses, organizations, and schools, a transgender support group for ages 18+, individual & family advocacy support, and more!
