ITHACA, N.Y. — After being closed off for repairs for months, the 200 block of North Cayuga Street reopened Wednesday.

The street had to be completely rebuilt after a water main break in February caused “significant damage.” When an 89-year-old pipe broke, it washed out support materials for the water and gas lines.

It has now been rebuilt, resurfaced, and as of Wednesday morning, is open again to traffic.

Now that it’s open, TCAT routes 13, 17, 36, 74 and 75 will go back to their normal routes effective noon on Wednesday, June 26. The routes had been detoured during the construction to Geneva and Tioga streets. See the summer service routes and stops at tcatbus.com.
