Update (9:35 a.m.): Police have located Marie Jackson and say that she was safe when found. She has been left in the care of healthcare professionals.

ITHACA, N.Y.—The Ithaca Police Department responded to a report of a missing person at approximately 10:11 p.m. on Sept. 29.

Officers were informed that 72-year-old Marie Jackson, who suffers from dementia, had left her residence at about 6 p.m. with no known destination, and was last seen wearing a pink hat.

Jackson is described as a Black female, approximately 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds. This is the only picture provided by police, though more may be made available if the search continues.

It is believed that Jackson’s safety is at risk, and IPD is requesting assistance in locating her to check on her wellbeing.
