DRYDEN, N.Y. — One man was arrested after police responded to a burglary in progress in the town of Dryden Sunday.

Tompkins County Sheriff Derek Osborne said police were called to a house on Harford Slaterville Road for reports of a burglary, which was being watched by the homeowner via surveillance camera. The homeowner was not on-site at the time.

Osborne said police responded to the scene and followed a suspect on a short foot chase before he was captured. The suspect, Alfred Morse, 35 years old of Brooktondale, was arrested and was awaiting his arraignment as of Sunday evening.

Osborne did not detail the charges Morse would face in connection with the incident.
